DESCRIPTION:In Diskussionen zu den Problemen der Palmölindustrie hängen die
  angestrebten Lösungen häufig eng mit dem Hintergrund der Sprecher:innen zu
 sammen. Umweltaktivist:innen sprechen meistens über die erhaltung der Natur
  als Selbstzweck. Indigene Gemeinschaften möchten ihren Lebensstil weiter e
 rhalten können, ohne durch Plantagen und Umweltzerstörung vertrieben zu wer
 den. Und die Arbeiter:innen sind zum Aufbringen ihres Lebensunterhalts auf 
 das Fortbestehen ihrer Arbeitsplätze angewiesen.\n\nIn diesem Online-Event 
 möchten wir unser Papier\n\nJust Transition in der Palmölindustrie\n\nvorst
 ellen, das versucht diese Perspektiven zu vereinen und einen Just Transitio
 n Ansatz zu entwickeln. Dies bedeutet eine sozial-ökologische Transformatio
 n der Industrie anzustreben, die all diesen Forderungen gerecht wird und si
 e nicht als widersprüchliche Anliegen, sondern als notwendige Aspekte eines
  Prozesses begreift.\n\nDiese Veranstaltung ist eine Kooperation zwischen d
 er AG Ressourcen der Stiftung Asienhaus, Sawit Watch, TPOLS und Brot für Al

 s of the palm oil industry, the solutions sought are often closely related 
 to the background of the speakers. Environmental activists mostly talk abou
 t preserving nature as an end in itself. Indigenous communities want to be 
 able to maintain their lifestyle without being displaced by plantations and
  environmental degradation. And the workers are dependent on the continued 
 existence of their jobs to earn their living.\n\nIn this online event we wo
 uld like to present our paper\n\nJust Transition in the Palm Oil industry\n
 \nthat tries to unite these perspectives and to develop a Just Transition a
 pproach. This means striving for a socio-ecological transformation of the p
 alm oil industry that meets all these demands and does not perceive them as
  contradictory concerns, but rather as necessary aspects of an ongoing proc
 ess.\n\nThis event is a cooperation between the AG Ressourcen of Stiftung A
 sienhaus, Sawit Watch, TPOLS and Bread for All. It will be held in English.
