A Room of its Own - German and Chinese Perspectives on Feminist Debates
In our discussion on Feminism we will be exploring feminist spaces and discovering venues of commonalities. As the feminist discourse diversifies, gains in strength all over the world and has been identified as a necessity for the development of humanity in SDG 5, voices that fracture and oppose feminist communities seem to multiply as well.
Safer spaces to discuss defining terminologies, contents of feminist (gender) studies and causes that feminists work on, have become a rarity in some regions due to politization and stigmatization of the term FEMINISM. The problems feminists face however can unite and strengthen if allowed. What are the discourses of today and where are we headed? At the core of all feminist schools lies the wish for freedom, equality and justice. Feminism embraces diversity and opposes “othering”. Join us in giving German and Chinese Feminist voices a room of their own.
