The publication is the documentation of an international workshop BICCSorganised on 17, 18 and 19 May. The workshops objective was to discuss China’sresponse to security challenges in Africa. The aim of this meeting was toexamine the new security threats that China has been confronted with, the wayChina perceived these challenges and how it has responded. It was the firsttime that EU experts had a separate meeting to discuss the impact of China’spolicies on the interests of the European Union and how the latter couldrespond.
