Video: Die Schlumper: Stewards of the Social Environment

Episode 2 of 7 documentaries. Implemented by: University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and University of Nottingham

This documentary features the socialenterprise Die Schlumper from Hamburg, Germany. It was just by chance that in 1984 a group of so-called mentally handicapped people who felt the urge to paint began to meet with the painter Rolf Laute in the basement of the Townhouse Schlump near the Schlump subway station in Hamburg, Germany. Today the Schlumper artist group consists of about 30 men and women between the ages of 20 and 80 (find more about The Schlumper here: www.schlumper.de.

This video ist the first of a seven-part documentary series 'Stewards of the Social Environment' was directed and produced by Dr Andreas Fulda in 2013. It tells the stories of seven female social entrepreneurs from Europe and China.


All seven episodes will be made available from 15 October 2013 till 15 January 2014. They will be uploaded sequentially every fortnight onto social media websites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Youku, and Tudou.
