The project Civil Society Dialogue in the Context of the BRI invited civil society organisations to enter a dialogue on the environmental and social implications of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Indonesia. It was aimed at enabling spaces of exchange and learning for civil society organisations from Indonesia and China and at improving the sustainability of BRI investments together with stakeholders involved.
In August 2022 the China Programme of Stiftung Asienhaus jointly kicked-off four fieldwork projects focused on China’s engagement in Indonesia with local civil society organisations. HaRI, Walhi NTB, Gudskul and Sarbi worked on projects in Java, Lombok and Kalimantan focussing on multi-stakeholder dialogue platforms, community empowerment, education and art interpretation as well as project transparency.
During this 90 minutes event the project participants are going to share their fieldwork findings.
