About us

The North East India Forum (neif) aims to safeguard the human rights of citizens in Northeast India, to demand their implementation and to promote civil society engagement. Our work is based on confidentiality in communication with our partners and their organizations. The neif

  • is a network of aid agencies, human rights organizations, development organizations, relevant foundations and individuals who are committed to development and the rule of law in northeastern India.
  • performs lobbying, advocacy and public relations work.
  • deals primarily with the subject areas of human rights, guarantees under the rule of law, minorities and indigenous peoples, resource extraction, impacts of German and European development cooperation, German arms exports and Germanys participation in major projects.

In addition, the neif deals with regionalization dynamics in the region North East India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and China.
